Nervous System Scans
Advanced Technology for Better Insight with INSiGHT™ scanning technology.
As the only clinic in Cork equipped with INSiGHT™ scanning technology, we use a set of three non-invasive neurological scans to assess your body’s stress response and nervous system function. For this, you’ll change into a gown so the chiropractor can assess your back muscles using the technology.
These scans – Surface Electromyography (sEMG), Thermal Scanning, and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) – help us gain a clearer picture of your overall health and guide personalized care recommendations.
Here’s what each scan measures:
Surface Electromyography (sEMG)
This diagnostic tool records the electrical activity of your spinal muscles, revealing muscle activity and symmetry patterns.
You will receive a copy of your sEMG scan to review during your report of findings appointment. This test is objective, easy to repeat, and will be performed again during your re-evaluations.
Thermal Scanning
This scan detects temperature differences along the spine, which can reveal inflammation or areas where the nerves may be irritated.
These temperature changes often correspond to subluxations (spinal misalignments) that may be affecting nerve communication.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
HRV measures the time variation between heartbeats and reflects how well your nervous system is adapting to physical, emotional, and chemical stress.
A healthy HRV indicates greater resilience and balance within your nervous system.

Together, these three scans provide a comprehensive view of how your nervous system is functioning. They help us pinpoint areas of stress or dysfunction and allow us to create a care plan that’s tailored specifically to your needs.

Your Next Visit
The Report of Findings
At your next appointment, typically scheduled within 1-2 days, the chiropractor will review all examination results and provide a detailed Report of Findings. During this visit, you’ll receive a comprehensive explanation of your condition and recommended care plan.
If your case is appropriate for chiropractic care, the doctor will discuss the length and nature of your treatment, explain and demonstrate the adjustments, and introduce any home care that may be required.
We value your understanding of your condition and care plan, so we take the time to answer all your questions and provide plenty of resources to keep you informed throughout your treatment journey.
