Weekend Athletes Deserve Chiropractic Care just like the Pros

Whether you are a weekend athlete or a professional athlete, there are 2 things both have in common;

1. they want to have the best possible performance in their chosen sport, and

2. they both can get injured.

While a random injury can happen at anytime, prevention is possible for some injuries.

A good stretching routine and warm-up can go a long way to preventing injuries, especially in the case of pulled muscles.

Many athletes find both prevention and treatment measures through the help of a chiropractor.

Regular chiropractic care has been shown to treat some types of sports injuries and prevent many others.

When the spine is properly aligned, it allows the entire body to function better and feel healthier and more limber.

This results in less injury, better range of motion, and a faster recovery time.

We have found that most weekend sports injuries are caused by actions requiring repetitive motion, running on hard surfaces, tennis serves, and golf swings.

Relying on over the counter pain medication to mask the pain without actually healing the root cause of the injury is not the answer.

Instead, chiropractic care seeks to target the source of the pain and to reduce internal inflammation and diminish swelling.

The chiropractic adjustment can correct misalignments in the vertebrae of the spine and allow the nerves to flow with energy unimpeded. This brings relief to many painful conditions.

Corrective exercises to strengthen the soft tissues around the injury work really well when done in conjunction with Chiropractic care.

By using the chiropractic adjustment to return spinal segments to their normal mobility and by using physical therapy to help the supportive tissues (muscles, tendons, & ligaments), helps the injured areas return to normal function.

Combined with some rest to help the healing process, athletes will find their way back on the field or court in no time.

Afterwards, better strategies for exercise and stretching will be discussed with the athlete to help them stay on right on track with their chosen sport.

Many professional athletes have proclaimed the benefits that chiropractic has provided them in their careers including; Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods. Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo, Olympic athletes like Usain Bolt (Fastest Man in the World) and Cyclist Bradley Wiggins, and Swimmer Michael Phelps are big advocates of chiropractic care. As well as other well known sports stars like Ronda Rousey (MMA), Evander Holyfield (Boxing), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Body Building), Tom Brady & Joe Montana (American Football), Michael Jordan (Basketball) the list goes on.

When you remember that the whole premise of chiropractic health care is to restore spinal health so that the body has the best opportunity to maximise proper function, it is not hard to understand why the Pros enjoy what chiropractic has to offer.
